2006 Event
This past year’s event was lead jointly by the Coronado and Harbor Police Departments and took place at Sea World and the Sports Arena Target store on, Saturday, December 2nd.
The Children enjoyed a kids’ breakfast at SeaWorld followed by the world famous Dolphin Show (where many kids and officers found out about the Splash Zone). Check out the amazing dolphin photos in the photo gallery .
Many children have never been to SeaWorld and to enjoy such a great show, with dolphins jumping and water splashing – this is a memory these children will never forget.
Then the Children rode in a police caravan to the Sports Arena Target. Santa Claus flew by in a helicopter and eventually landed to welcome in the children to Target, where they had $100 to spend.
Some children went over the $100 and officers chipped in to help cover the cost of tax/etc. This year, children created a list and many of those lists included toys for themselves and all of their family members. With Target’s low prices, the $100 went a long way.
Thank you to all the agencies and officers who participated. A special thank you to our sponsors: Target, SeaWorld, San Diego Port Authority, and North County Yamaha.
A Special thank you to Kimberly Hunt who emceed the event and to KUSI News who televised the event live.
